Fulfilling Stories - God-Centered
Series: Fulfilling Stories
Even a few months ago in pre-Covid-19 days, this parable would be dangerous ground for a sermon in America—it seems to attack the very notion of capitalism and retirement. “Why wouldn’t we build bigger barns? That’s just good business.” However, as Kalas points out, the problem was that the man in this parable left God completely out of his decision-making process, as seen in his internal dialogue, and it led to his ruin.
What is our process for making decisions, and do we involve God? What do we risk if God is not included? How can we intentionally include God in that process?
