- What cargo are we carrying? (how do we define our “enemies”?)
- Inventory your cargo (identifying specific grievances that need to be forgiven or let go)
- Identifying postures toward forgiveness that may actually interrupt the process
- Deciding to forgive
- Pen and paper (list and externalize what needs to be forgiven)
- Identify what is really behind our instinctual fears
- The log in our eyes (recognize and own our own mistakes)
- Unload your cargo
Daily devotionals:
- Taking the “opposite” stance toward our enemies of what would be natural
- Acknowledging our own grief and pain
- Log removal so we can see more clearly
- When we are our own enemy
- Relinquishing power for vengeance (righteous anger) to God
- Abide in God for power to forgive
- Slow down and rest
